Voice Faculty

Soprano Emely Sepúlveda grew up in a musical house and has been teaching voice since 2012. She recently received both her Master of Music in Vocal Performance and an Artist Diploma from the John. J. Cali School of Music. Her on-stage experience is diverse and she has had the pleasure of working on projects with living composers. She has performed in The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, At the Statue of Venus by Jake Heggie, Suor Angelica by Puccini, and The Turn of the Screw by Britten. Concernt works include performances in Merken Hall, Kasser Theater and Teatro di Villazzano in Trento, Italy. Apart from opera, Emely loves to collaborate in chamber ensembles. Her favorite is West-African drumming which she finds musically gratifying and therapeutic.

“I believe that children learn best when working with music they love. My teaching philosophy is rooted in an individual approach. Each student has their own goals and we will work together to achieve them. Everyone has different learning styles and it is important to create a positive environment where students can learn efficiently and have fun. Great technique and musicianship is at the foundation of all styles of singing. We will work together to learn how to sing beautifully in any genre. I will give my students the tools to be able to sing at any function, recital or audition with confidence. As they grow, my ultimate goal is to watch my students transfer the knowledge they learn here into confidence at school, intellectual curiosity and better communication skills.” — Ms. Emely’s Teaching Philosophy
